My 2013-2014 demo reel of all the animation/motiongraphics/illustration stuff I’ve done…

showing some of my work as a technical illustrator. Completely revamped my portfolio and animated all my works.

for 3D I rendered everything out in Cinema4D, but for modelling I used FormZ7 SE, Zbrush, Strata 3D CX 6, Bonzai, & Google Sketchup.

Also CS6 Photoshop (for art), CS6 Illustrator (for art), CS6 Premiere Pro (editing), and CS6 After Effects (editing/animating) were used in this production.

Sound editing was done in both Premiere Pro and Mix Meister 7.

In terms of video footage, I used a Canon T2i.

Often i find the most difficult thing in any 3D program I use is the lighting… Right now I’m using Cinema 4D mainly because it has a very good rendering/lighting system.

Lighting can make even the most simple rendering look amazing - so do your research, look at tutorials on youtube/online. In this image I just started messing around with environments/lighting/and lighting effects. This will be a interior shot - I only modelled what was necessary - I still have to add trees (but I always do outdoor details near the end because it lags the program quite a bit. Still has a long way to go. I’m trying to go as realistic as possible - will keep you guys posted!

I usually don’t post other content on here. But I love space-stuff, and this was too awesome to pass up. Basically Nasa has significant evidence that a body of water exists on the Saturn moon Enceladus (this is not Europa). Also they found that this water has the right elements in it to support alien-microbial life. Check out the article…
